September: collage and cyanotype with nadia bongo
Drop in to a cyanotype / collage workshop led by teaching artist Nadia Bongo in September. After a short introduction to each technique with famous examples, unleash your imagination and access your emotions. We’ll create in response to this iconic space. Each session will end in a 15-minute writing session with a share out. All materials are provided, from paper, pressed flowers, magazines to polaroid pictures. However, feel free to bring any personal materials to add to your work.
Nadia Bongo is a teaching artist and translator. Her writing and/or photographs have appeared in Apex, African Voices, Litro online, Solstice, The Citron Review, Taos Journal of Poetry, Blue Mesa Review, and elsewhere. A former Brooklyn Poets Fellow, she was a poetry guest editor for Lolwe Magazine. In 2023, Nadia co-directed an experimental short film with the support of University Open Air program presented by the Brooklyn Public Library.
