While it couldn’t be outside this year due to COVID-19, we are happy to announce the Digital Washington Square Park Folk Festival!

The festival will be safely filmed and recorded live onstage at the Jalopy Theatre, with no live audience and a small crew, wearing masks and practicing social distancing. The broadcast will be available, free to all via the Jalopy Theatre’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jalopytheatre.

This year the festival will feature well known blues, folk and jazz singer and multi-instrumentalist Jerron Blind Boy Paxton Paxton, songwriter Feral Foster, Flamenco singer Julia Patinella and La Cumbiamba NY, playing traditional Cumbia music from Colombia.

The Washington Square Park Folk Festival celebrates and continues the long tradition of folk music performance in WSP. The Washington Square Park Folk Festival is the first formal festival presentation of Folk music in Washington Square Park’s history and not even a pandemic can stop it’s 10th annual season!

The Washington Square Park Folk Festival is a 2020 WSPC Community Arts Grantee.
