How To Get Here
Washington Square Park is the heart of Greenwich Village – located at the base of Fifth Avenue between MacDougal Street and University Place. Take the A/C/E, B/D/F trains to West 4th/Washington Square, the N/R to 8th Street or the Q to Union Square, or the 4/5/6 to Union Square or the 6 to Astor Place.
Citibike stations are located at the Northwest corner of the park, along the eastern edge of the park, and on the south side on Thompson Street at West 3rd. Please WALK your bike in Washington Square Park.
Car parking is not available in the park; we encourage public transit and walking.

NYC Parks department Rules
The following activities are not allowed in the park:
- Smoking
- Skateboarding
- Bathing in the fountain
- Amplified sound without an NYPD permit
REGARDING DOGS
- Please do not allow your dog into the fountain
- Please keep your dog on its leash, except when in one of the dog runs
BICYCLES
- Bicycles must be walked in the park
LAWNS
Lawns are for passive use (sitting, lounging) only – not for active recreation.
