May: Color and Light, and Temperature in the Landscape with Lesley Wamsley

Color, Light and Temperature in the Landscape explores how color, light and temperature can be described through the use of complementary colors. The class combines foundational elements of observational drawing with essential color theory principles. The color wheel is used to teach color theory concepts to a broad range of students.

Teaching Artist: Lesley Wamsley

Lesley Wamsley is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York known for her observational landscapes. Working observationally, her paintings blend personal narratives with broader, historical contexts. She received a MFA from SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY in 2012. Awarded residencies include The Constance Saltonstall Foundation, Ithaca, NY; Wassaic Project, Wassiac, NY; The Spruce, Indiana, PA. She teaches at Fordham University in The Visual Arts Department.
