Clean up volunteers hard at workWSPC is on the hunt for new volunteers! There are many ways to get involved in Washington Square Park, whether you’re looking to get your hands in the dirt as a Wednesday Weeder, help keep the Park tidy on the Clean Team, or capture all the Park’s beauty as a photography volunteer. Applications are due by 5pm on March 31st so check out the various programs and find the right fit for you today!

Clean Team
The Clean Team is a group of dedicated volunteers who help keep Washington Square Park clean with a regular commitment to litter pick-up. The program takes place when NYC Parks staff are present: 8:30am-6pm, 7 days a week and you can volunteer anytime within this time frame. Following a required orientation, we recommend a shift of 45 minutes once a week and ask for a 6-month commitment. Apply here for the 2021 season! Applications are due March 31st.

Wednesday Weeders
Our Wednesday Weeders are a small group of committed volunteers who work under the guidance of gardening staff at the Park. You’ll learn about the horticulture of the Park while lending a helping hand. Wednesday Weeders commit to at least 6 hours of service each month, of weeding, mulching, and planting. Volunteers must complete an orientation for this program, but no previous experience is necessary. Apply here for the 2021 season! Applications are due March 31st.

Photographers
Interested in photography? We’re always looking for volunteers to spend time taking photos in the Park and to help photograph special events. We ask photographers to volunteer approximately 6 hours each month and participation in an orientation session. Apply here for the 2021 season! Applications are due March 31st.
