Washington Square Park has long served as a space for public assembly. On Saturday, September 26th from 11:00pm-12:00pm. Join WSPC volunteer Greeter Marilyn as she explores the history of protests and rallies in and around WSP. She’ll begin with a short slide show featuring labor unrest in the 1800s to political rallies and Black Lives Matter protests today and close with an open discussion on Washington Square’s role as a public space.

You can usually find our WSPC Greeters hanging out in the Park on weekend days from May-October. They’re there to answer your questions on anything and everything Washington Square Park, but due to COVID-19, they haven’t been in the Park this season. So, we’re introducing the Virtual Greeter!
