Interested in Washington Square Park history? Like meeting new people? Then consider becoming a WSP Greeter or Guide!

Greeter volunteers answer questions from Park visitors on various topics, from Park horticulture and history to events and happenings. Tour Guides develop a tour of the Park under the guidance of Conservancy staff and lead groups on an exploration of the Park’s many features and functions. Greeter orientation must be completed before beginning Guide training.

This program requires submission of an application, extensive orientation and a commitment of at least 6 hours per month. For more information click here. The application for the greeter/guide program is now available, due March 25th. Orientations will take place on April 6 and April 13th, from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
